January 29 - February 21

Accidental president. Brilliant politician. Flawed man. It’s 1963 and an assassin’s bullet catapults Lyndon Baines Johnson into the presidency. A Shakespearean figure of towering ambition and appetite, the charismatic, conflicted Texan hurls himself into Civil Rights legislation, determined to lift the country out of the ashes and rebuild it into the Great Society by any means necessary. But in faraway Vietnam, a troublesome conflict looms throwing the country into turmoil.

The Alley’s Texas-sized production of this gripping play about LBJ features a cast combining artists from the Alley, with members of the Dallas Theater Center portraying some of history’s most dynamic figures, including Martin Luther King, Jr., J. Edgar Hoover, and the 36th President himself.
